I’ve updated VTFTool to version 0.5b – it now supports TGA->VTF conversion, looks a little nicer and is “mod aware” so some of the paths should be figured out automatically. It’s also a little smarter and should maintain file and folder layouts when converting files between your materials and materials source folders.
I’ve also updated the 3DS Max VTF import plug-in to fix a bug where it would crash trying to load non-square textures.

Hi i use 3dsmax7. I place the vtf.bmi in 3dsmax7plugins.
The plugin is loaded in plugin manager but i dont know how to open it .
Import>source.vtf = error “no appropriate module found”.
can you help me ?
GUU,
VTF is a bitmap or texture file, not a model so the VTF import filter only kicks in when your doing something in Max that uses bitmaps. Examples would be assigning a diffuse map in the materials editor or using the the File->View Image File option.
