I’ve had a load of people ask me if I’ll be doing a new VGUI for DoD 1.2 and the answer is “Yes”.

As most people know, I was a 1.2 beta tester so I started work on one way before 1.2 was released but I discovered a few irritating bugs in the VGUI system plus a bunch of extra stuff which gave me way to many possibilities! 🙂

Anyway, work on a new 1.2 GUI is underway – watch this space.

Wee I’m back, well sort of. Decided I needed to get away for a while and went over to England to see my parents as it was my fathers birthday on the 25th.

Did I say holiday? Actually it wasn’t too bad but I was doing a fair bit of work while I was over there.

First stop was in London and three days at the Public Records Office at Kew do do some research for my Top Secret WWII project and evenings drinking beer with my little sister (Hello sis!).

Next up was home to middle England and my parents and the news that my fathers Land Rover engine had seized. That could only mean one thing – I was going to get covered in oil, very sweaty and spend some time on my back under a chassis. It wasnt too bad, we did get the engine out and back in again in 2 days but hadn’t connected the ancillaries so I left without knowing if the engine was going to run or not.

Also did a fair bit of walking around the countryside and my legs giving me merry hell for it – I think they’ve just about forgiven me.

All in all a pretty good trip give or take one or two low spots.

You know know theres something wrong with Google when searching for the details of a file-format specification returns the website of some 2-bit hacker over that of the company that invented it.
